Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of DS2WAV at https://www.ds2wav.com, operated by the operator of DS2WAV (ds2wav.com). By using the service, creating an account, or buying a plan, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

DS2WAV is a browser tool that converts .ds2 / .dss dictation files to WAV and transcribes supported audio on your device. Conversion and transcription run locally in your browser. We do not upload your recordings, WAV files, or transcripts to our servers, and we do not send audio to a cloud speech API.

The service is provided as general-purpose software. It is not a medical device, not a substitute for professional legal or medical advice, and not certified for court, clinical, or HIPAA use. Always review transcripts before you rely on them. Speech recognition can miss words, invent words, or mis-attribute speakers.

2. Accounts

Paid access and restored purchases require a Google sign-in. You are responsible for the Google account you use. We store your Google name, email, and profile image so we can keep you signed in, plus your plan and daily usage counts.

3. Free and paid plans

Free use is limited each UTC day: two .ds2 / .dss conversions and one full-length transcription, then a first-30-seconds transcription preview. WAV and MP3 files you open do not count as conversions.

Pro is a €5/month subscription. It stays current with new features as we ship them, for as long as the subscription is active. Cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period, then returns to Free.

Lifetime is a €30 one-time purchase of the product as it exists at the time of purchase. It is not a promise of every future feature, model, or format. Pro is how you keep receiving new releases.

Purchases are processed by LemonSqueezy as merchant of record. Access is granted only after LemonSqueezy confirms payment and we attach the plan to your Google account. Clicking a price, opening checkout, or returning with a success URL does not unlock Pro by itself.

4. Acceptable use

You may only convert and transcribe files you have the right to process. Do not misuse the service, attempt to bypass limits or payments, disrupt the site, or use it for unlawful surveillance. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or payment systems.

5. Intellectual property

You keep your files and transcripts. We keep the DS2WAV software, site, and branding. Third-party components (including the dictation codec runtime and the in-browser Whisper model) remain subject to their own licenses.

6. Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted access, or error-free transcripts. Browser, device, and file-format differences can affect results.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of DS2WAV (ds2wav.com) is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or business, arising from the service or from relying on a transcript. Our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or €30, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

8. Changes and availability

We may change features, limits, or these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continued use after that date is acceptance of the updated terms. We may pause or discontinue the hosted service; Lifetime does not guarantee that ds2wav.com will exist forever.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator’s country of residence, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply.
