Privacy

This policy describes how the operator of DS2WAV (ds2wav.com) (“we”) handles information when you use DS2WAV at https://www.ds2wav.com. It is written for a small hosted app. It is not legal advice.

Who we are

DS2WAV is a browser converter and transcriber. The operator of the site is the operator of DS2WAV (ds2wav.com). Contact: the operator of ds2wav.com.

What we never collect

Audio files, WAV output, and transcripts are processed in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers and are not sent to a cloud speech API. We cannot read your recordings from our database because they are not stored there.

Local processing is a privacy advantage. It is not HIPAA certification, not a medical-device claim, and not a guarantee that a transcript is safe to file in a medical or court record without your own review and your own compliance process.

What we store

If you use the site without signing in, we store a signed guest cookie and daily usage counts:

• how many .ds2 / .dss conversions you used today
• how many full transcriptions and 30-second previews you used today

If you sign in with Google, we also store:

• Google account name, email address, and profile image
• your plan (Free, Pro, or Lifetime)
• a LemonSqueezy customer id when a payment is attached
• the same daily usage counts, now tied to your account

We do not sell this information. We do not run advertising or analytics cookies.

Cookies

We only use cookies (and similar storage) that are needed to run the service you asked for:

• ds2wav_guest — signed guest id so Free daily limits work before you sign in
• Auth.js session, CSRF, and callback cookies — keep you signed in with Google
• ds2wav.cookieNotice.v1 in localStorage — remembers that you dismissed this notice

These are strictly necessary for sign-in, security, and applying the Free plan limits. We do not set marketing cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser; that signs you out and may reset guest limits on that browser.

Processors

We use other companies to operate the site. They process data only to provide their service:

• Google — sign-in (name, email, profile image)
• Vercel — hosting the website and API routes
• Neon — PostgreSQL database for accounts and usage
• Cloudflare — DNS for ds2wav.com
• LemonSqueezy — checkout, invoices, VAT, and subscription status
• jsDelivr / Hugging Face model files — the Whisper runtime and weights are downloaded into your browser; audio is not uploaded to them by DS2WAV

Payments

Card details are handled by LemonSqueezy, not by DS2WAV. After a successful Pro or Lifetime purchase, LemonSqueezy tells us the order or subscription is paid so we can attach the plan to your Google account.

Retention and deletion

Usage counts are stored per UTC day. Account records stay until you ask us to delete them or you stop using the service and we later remove inactive rows. To delete your account and stored personal data, email the operator of ds2wav.com from the same Google address you use to sign in. We will delete the user record and related usage rows we control. LemonSqueezy may retain invoices as required for tax law.

International transfers

Our hosts and processors may store data in the EU, UK, or United States. If you are in the EEA/UK, that can mean a transfer outside your country, using the safeguards those providers offer (such as standard contractual clauses).

Children

DS2WAV is not directed at children under 16. Do not create an account for a child.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “last updated” date at the top will change. The current version is always at https://www.ds2wav.com/privacy.
